Tree-mendous!

Image
Yes, it's that time of year again, and I'm again sorry for the lack of updates! I've been busy with other things, but I have found time recently to do some crafting for Christmas. I used this brilliant tutorial by Sara Adams over at Happyfolding to make an origami Christmas tree. I practised on a small one first and then increased the paper size to get the larger one (and I did need a lot of paper!) The large tree is about 46cm (18in) tall, so it works as a table-top tree quite nicely. The star on top is also origami, and I used this tutorial to make it. The baubles and tinsel are just cut from pearlescent paper. I also made some paper garlands to hang up, which Domokun was particularly excited about... I hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year. 2013 awaits!

Branching out

I like taking photos of incidental details which I come across when I'm on my travels. I think that they are the genuinely interesting photos - the little things in eveyday life which you don't normally notice when you're busy.

A flock of early birds for IF . The birds' "plumage" are the patterns found on the inside of envelopes.

Salisbury

... and surroundings. A beautiful part of the country. In a strange case of synchronicity, I've just started reading The Remains of the Day , which also references Salisbury.

Easy being green

I think I've used every shade of green known to man in my current piece of work.

Holiday blues

First post, so not much here at the moment, but hopefully there will be soon. It’s always difficult to come back after a great holiday... Anyway, can’t stare at holiday snaps all day - there’s work to be done!
